What is PM-KISAN scheme?

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Government of India initiative that provides direct income support of ₹6,000 per year to farmer families in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. The scheme was launched in 2019.

Who is NOT eligible for PM-KISAN?

The following are not eligible: Constitutional post holders (MPs, MLAs, Ministers, Mayors), retired/current government employees with pension above ₹10,000/month, income tax payers, and registered professionals like doctors, engineers, CAs, lawyers, and architects.

How to apply for PM-KISAN?

Visit pmkisan.gov.in and click 'New Farmer Registration'. You need your Aadhaar number, bank account details linked to Aadhaar, and land records. You can also apply through your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).

When are PM-KISAN installments released?

PM-KISAN installments of ₹2,000 each are released three times a year: April-July, August-November, and December-March. The money is directly transferred to the farmer's Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Are government Class IV employees eligible for PM-KISAN?

Yes. Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Class IV, and Group D government employees are exempt from the exclusion criteria. Even if they are government employees, they can be eligible for PM-KISAN if they meet all other conditions.
